Weight Gain Diet Foods

Weight gain diet foods are essential to help you gain extra pounds of healthy weight. Skinny people need to know what kind of food and how much to eat. Eating the wrong foods such as high carbs like fries, chips and other junk food is a sure way to create future health problems downstream like hypertension, heart diseases and diabetes. We will look at some of the proper weight gain diet foods you should include in your daily diet and the portions you should be consuming to gain weight quickly and healthily.
There is a right way to eat for weight gain. Instead of eating everything within the 3 basic meals, distribute your food intake into 5 or 6 meals – 3 main and 2 light ones. This would aid your calorie intake and maintain a healthy balance.
In order to gain weight, it simply means that you have to eat more than what your body requires for the day. This is translated to eating more than your daily calorie requirement to maintain the calorie-burning activities you perform. Eating just enough to meet your daily needs would only keep your weight constant, and not add any additional weight. Studies have revealed that in order for a person to gain extra 1 pound, the person needs to increase his/her calorie intake above what he/she needs by 3500 calories. Assuming the additional weight gain is achieved within a week, this equates adding 500 calories per day to the meals consumed. An average male adult requires about 2000 odd calories per day. If you want to know the exact calorie counts you need to consume, head to my blog to find out your Basal Metabolic Rate.
If you are interested in the kind of weight gain diet foods you can try the following:
1. Milk (3 Glasses)
Milk is packed with protein, the ingredient necessary to put on muscle mass. Start the day with a glass of milk, drink it over the next few meals until you are done with more than 3 glasses.
2. Fruits & Vegetables (5 Servings)
Eating fruits and vegetables help prepare our bodies for healthy weight gain. They are rich in fiber and vitamins, and aid us in digesting our weight gain diet foods.
3. Breads
Choose hearty and dense breads such as oat bran and whole wheat rather than light white breads. Eat them with generous servings of peanut butter and jam.
4. Cereals
Cereals make great weight gain diet foods. Eat more dense cereals such as muesli, grape-nuts, granola, shredded wheat and bran or wheat chex. Avoid flaked cereals. Remember to use low fat milk instead of water when preparing hot cereals and garnish with nuts and dried fruits.
5. Beverages
Drink more filling beverages like shakes, milk, fruit juices instead of water, tea, coffee and sodas. Go for the higher calorie content.

Help answer the question about diet food
Switching from Science Diet to By Nature Organic dog food, how do I get my dogs to eat it when they won't?They just sniff it and won't eat it. I tried mixing it in with the remaining science diet food and they just spit out the new food. Will they eventually start eating it?

Great vid but one big error. You have to use salt otherwise you will die. Don’t use normal table-salt use mineral-salt or other healthy salts. Check other raw-food vids and see for yourself.
its to do with the types of oils in the foods, nuts, fatty fish and avocado contain "good fats" which are omega 3 fatty acids. rather than saturated fat found in animal fats. omega 3 fats are good for various functions in the body, where as saturated fats are not.
there are still the same amount of calories in each gram of fat (and many people find peanut butter tasty, hence why its a good weight gainer, because you can eat lots of it and get lots of calories) but even those losing weight are required to take in fat each day, and these "good fats" are a better use of those fat calories, than saturated fats.
Best bet is to talk to your doctor or a nutritionist to help you plan a program to gain weight.
That being said . . .
Be sure you are snacking on healthy foods instead of junk which is empty calories and low in nutritious value.
Cheese and crackers, or peanut butter crackers – high in protein and satisfy the need to crunch tend to be better than fried potato chips (or crisps – depending on where you are!)
Baked tortilla chips and salsa – make your own nachos! – line a cookie sheet with tinfoil. Cover it with chips and grated cheeses. Broil it for several minutes until the cheese is melted. Remove from oven and top with whatever you like – salsa, sour cream, etc.
Whole grain breads make great tasting healthy sandwiches – meats (if you're not a vegetarian), cheeses, peanut butter and jelly, whatever!
Smoothies or homemade milkshakes with fresh fruits and protein powders added. Loaded with vitamins and calcium and generally taste good!
Yogurt with granola / grape nuts / cereal of choice and fresh fruit. Tasty meal or snack.
Grilled meals – my dad bought a gas grill for Father's Day and I cook on it more than he does!! Fish, Chicken, steaks, veggies . . . anything goes on the grill. Much healthier than fried alternatives!
You might want to check out the websites such as the American Heart Association. They tend to list HEALTHY diets. Good luck!!
That was very soothing. Thank you so much! : )
Caloric density may be what you are after.
If you are not worried about heart health, I highly recommend 'heavy whipping cream'.
It is delicious and loaded with caloric density.
..but, it is saturated animal fat, which isn't too healthful.
First and foremost: focus on whole, natural foods. Complex carbohydrates like potatoes, brown rice, yams are particularly good sources, because they contain many health benefits such as fibers, minerals and vitamins. Also, don't forget about good lean protein sources too: there's nothing wrong with eating red meat every now and then, as it's a good source of zinc and iron. Other excellent choices for protein are fish and chicken. And finally, most people think that eating fat is bad for you. This is not entirely correct, because there are healthy fats out there which are necessary for optimal health: the fats found in nuts, fish, avocados, etc – are very good choices.
If you are trying to gain weight, one of the best things to do is the opposite of what people who are trying to lose weight do. That is, eat more at night. A pasta dinner with chicken, for example is an energy-dense meal that will help you pack on the pounds. Of course, try to eat healthy. I wouldn't recommend butter and other saturated animal fats, but instead healthy fats like peanut butter and extra-virgin olive oil. If you have an elevated metabolism due to hyperthyroid, it can be very difficult to gain weight. Some studies have shown the amino acid L-Carnitine interferes with natural thyroid hormone production, and stabilizes metabolism. It is also helpful for burning fat, but make sure you don't have hyperthyroidism first. If you do, you need to speak with a doctor about it. Don't eat junk and sugary foods. Eat higher amounts of carbs with every meal – but healthy carbs, like whole grain breads and pasta, if you eat cereal make sure it's not loaded with sugar. Fast food like McDonald's should be ruled out – there are too many unhealthy fats in it. If you are trying to gain muscle mass, try something like Muscle Milk by CytoSport. It will protect your muscle while using the fats it contains for energy. Avoid simple sugars and sweets, but consume fruits like bananas if you like them and other fruits.
milk(timid add sugar according to your taste) and two bananas(yellow) everyday in b/fast will solve your problem. thanks.
I found this website which provides a plan for you.

@marjarose The Vitamix is really expensive, I think they are $700. I saw a live demo at Costco with a blender (forgot maker) that cost just under $400. That blender made nut milk (almond) right before my eyes. If it’s strong enough to do that, it is just as good as Vitamix. IMHO
I have tried this diet, and YES you will gain weight if you overdo it with the nuts. Even though nuts are healthy fats and good for the heart, calories are calories and too much of anything will cause you to gain weight of course. If you feel you need them, just have a few with every meal. Fill up on salads or fruits, and then treat yourself to a few nuts a few times a day. This way you won't feel deprived and end up eating way too many more than you should in the end.
It is totally possible to keep the raw lifestyle, it just takes dedication, and the health benefits I think outweigh its difficulty beginning the diet in the long run.
Good luck!
how can this woman tell me that I will feel better eating fruit for breakfast than when eating a breakfast high in saturated fat? She knows nothing of my genetic background or metabolic type. I appreciate the advice but you can’t seriously believe that fruit for breakfast is good for every human being regardless of their internal body type.
I want to change my eating habits to lose weight and for health reasons. I thought about juicing but knew I’d miss the “crunch” from not eating food. This gave me ideas. However eating healthy is expensive and it seems that it would take alot for juicing as well has eating healthy. Do you have any suggestions on keeping the cost down?
Thanks!
@basicsweetness4ever I know…sooo expensive to shop in the produce section nowaday! I now go to the Farmer’s markets. Save a lot of money that way.
whats your definition of cooked foods?
i’d love to look like demi moore at 40, but i have no idea how fruit and salad is going to sustain me for the day.
