I am facing unemployment and this video really helped me understand my health care options with COBRA. Very informative!

Government can't run a railroad. They screw up delivering the mail and the service is atrocious. Their creations Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are directly implicated in the housing meltdown that lead to the worst recession since the Depression. Everything the government touches turns into a massive self-serving bureaucracy that places it's own institutional survival above all else.

What don't you get about the so-called "public" option which is Government run health care?

There is allot of information about COBRA health insurance here that I don’t think people know about. I have spent a fortune on COBRA medical insurance for my family in Florida. I wish I had seen this information before I wasted this money — I could have saved thousands of dollars. Thank you.

I love this even though I dont live in U.S. – It seems t fit for a lifestyle always researching and learning and reviewing. I once lived in a fully mutual housing working collectiveco/operative and we had pared down legally the least amount you had to say about yourselves in order to exist in law as a business so we had a set of model rules about mutuality and the last was to keep the above rules under constant review – It sounds so sensible one woudl wonder why we dont do it for everything – coudl it be that it smacks of losing control and also looking liek you dont know what youre doing.

Lady T here, always made a big deal about not doing u-turns and people seemed to think that showed strength.

Since you're disabled; you can obtain Medicare after 6 months. Part A is for Hospitalizations and it's always free. Part B is for medical coverage or Dr andit's not free.

When I applied SSDI for my disability ; it only took 6 months
    WE had a hearing. I didn't get a lawyer.

There are numerous health insurance companies. Aetna, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield; Cigna Humana; Assurant and of course the HMO's.

HMO of which Kaiser is one has a multidisciplinary specialist in their staff. However, kaiser requires inclusion in the Medicare Program before you can enroll in their program.

The other day, I saw on TV; they advertised for only $6.00 a day for health insurance. This even include Dental Care.
    You should check into that.

If you're a Vet; you can get medical care from an VA hospital.

Most health insurance companies will not cover gastric bypass surgery unless the procedure is determined to be necessary because of a LIFE-THREATENING WEIGHT problem.

Does your health insurance cover Gastric Bypass Insurance? People considering gastric bypass surgery usually want to know one thing: Will my insurance carrier pay for the procedure? The answer is yes, if you know how to ask.

Primarily, it must be deemed “medically necessary” for you to receive pre-authorization for treatment, if the benefit is offered at all. However. the company will not pay for the skin to be extra loose skin to be removed.

Certain criteria have to be made before health insurance companies will approve Gastric Bypass surgery: Morbid obesity:Duration X5 yrs. A psychological/psychiatric evaluation Body mass index (BMI)* of 40 or greater than 35 .

The following company will cover gastric bypass surgery:
    Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna,Great WESt Health Care; One Health Plan; Unicare ; First Health; PPO;
    PPO

Republicans aren't lying. Very few people are for this bill.

Secondly all your information you're providing is FALSE! The deficit will most definitely go up and most of our taxes will go up. This bill will affect the small businesses greatly. Our economy is too bad right now for this type of bill.

It is also takes away the reasons why we're even here in America. Remember "TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" Our founding fathers came here to get away from Europe. Now we have the same healthcare!

I'm personally against this because people should be able to go to college, and get a job so they can pay for their own healthcare. If a person isn't disabled, they should be able to get out of the bed and actually work for their own wants and needs. Who are we really helping? The disabled is already getting taking care of by our government. People should never complain they don't have money to go to college either, because you have scholarships, grants, pell grants, foundation scholarships. If that doesn't work you can always go for a loan. We go to college to learn for a new beginning of our life and that's taking care of ourselves instead of being babied by our parents.

The only people we're helping are the people who CHOOSE to NOT have healthcare. They would rather buy the BMW than have the health insurance. After the bill was passed a lady on TV was crying about how she could afford health care for her kids now. During the interview she also mentioned her kids also had cell phones. Kids don't need cell phones, they need healthcare.

I'm sorry I don't want to pay for people like that!

  9. Professional Hater says:

Insurance companies are moral and ethical. They sell a product that under ideal conditions should never be used. The purpose of insurance is to distribute a loss over a pool of like mined individuals. Think of you policy as a bet — I am betting $100/month that I will not be hospitalized for an unforeseen accident.

To keep your bet at $100/month you exercise, eat in moderation, and avoid stupid behavior. Sadly, governments have made this difficult since they have told silly people that they can be overweight, be a drug user, and reckless and the insurance companies will still pay for their care — so that you as a wise individual pays for your low risk and the high risk of two or more fools.

Drug companies also make and sell ethical products — the cost of developing drugs that can meet all the silly demands of governmental rules is extremely high. Rules on advertises, liability(even for misuse), employment of statisticians and lawyer all due to excessive government.

Energy companies are also ethical and inexpensive — Most would have been using nuclear but for governmental restriction on their expansion all based on FUD.

Your American way of life was built on the dynamics of the open free market that was extant during the 1940-1960's. When government started to destroy this Goose that Laid Golden Eggs — freedom declined and government grew — LBJ had his war in Vietnam and on Poverty Both lost by the government.

Considering that they are funded by (un)insurance companies and ignore the facts, then no.

FACT – Insurance companies in the USA admit to pushing up prices, buying politicians and not paying out claims when they should [1]
FACT – PER PERSON the USA spends more on healthcare than any other nation on the planet [2]
FACT – Obama debated his plans before the election for healthcare [3]
FACT – the chance of a child under five of dying in the USA is greater than industrialised nations with universal health coverage [4]
FACT – Obama was elected by the American people to bring in change [5]
FACT – Obama wants to stop insurance companies from screwing American [6]
FACT – The reforms Obama wants work in the Netherlands and Switzerland [7]

Let me know if my facts are wrong, but please provide proof.
