If you’re on a losing weight diet, there are a lot of problems you need to avoid to ensure your fat loss success!  Bad diet and exercise information is way too common.  Here are 3 of the worst pitfalls you should avoid on a losing weight diet.>

 

1. Eating Carbs at Night

 

A lot of people who talk about losing weight diets recommend that you eat several small meals per day, each consisting of lean protein and whole grains.  While it’s certainly true that you should be eating portions of protein all day long, you might want to avoid all those carbs!

 

Carbohydrates are really best eaten in the morning and around exercise times, at least on a losing weight diet.  To really accelerate your fat loss, avoid eating carbs, even those coming from whole grains, at times other than breakfast and before and after your workout.  At meals where you have no grains, instead eat green veggies and healthy fats.

 

2. Avoiding all Fat

 

You probably need to watch your fat intake on your losing weight diet, but that doesn’t mean avoiding it altogether!  You need to get it through your head that eating dietary fat does not necessarily lead to a gain in body fat.  Sometimes the opposite can be true.

 

To really achieve fat loss on your losing weight diet, you should be eating plenty of healthy fats, the kinds you get from olive oil, lean meats, and nuts.  Eat these foods along with your protein in the meals where you’re not eating carbs.

 

3. Eating too Little

 

This shouldn’t be too much of a problem if you’re eating 5-6 small meals per day, but you need to make sure you’re eating ENOUGH!  Eating too little, too early on in your losing weight diet just slows down your metabolism and leaves you no room to decrease calories once your fat loss stalls.

Help answer the question about weight diet

How do you safely lose weight without diet pills?
I'm fourteen and i have a really bad body image.

I have seriously considered cutting and bulimia before, and i need to know a safe way (like a safe diet or something) to lose weight.

I've tried not eating, but that doesn't work. I exercise regularly but I just can't lose the weight. Help?

    @lookingtotomorrow buy 1.5 litre-bottles of water. Drink at least one daily. Start any dynamic sport you like ( tennis, soccer, basketball etc) and combine it with working out in a gym. e.g. Also stop eating junk food, but eat any normal food you enjoy, just in smaller portions. Start ENJOYING those changes as your new way of life. Live it in the now or else its pointless.

    Take it as your way of life, not just some means to an end. :)

    There are several methods I’m sure. Perhaps some supplements work, most don’t, clinics, trainers, exercise.. blah blah… As someone who has lost weight and kept it off… EAT RIGHT, DRINK WATER CONSTANTLY, GET REST, EXERCISE MORE!!! The inches will fall off, if not, then #1 your eating wrong. Sugars, fats, candy and ice Cream.. FAIL!!!

    It’s one thing to live healthy, and another thing to look good. It’s more complicated than that. Even tho he’s right about SOME of the things, he still doesn’t know what the hell is he talking about. Go ask few questions in a bodybuilding forum about metabolism and muscle recovery – you are going to get ROFL’d, cause it’s something that you have to know as a child knows his name.

    The Paleo diet is the ONLY diet. My allergies have all but vanished, my health improved, my energy increased, it even brought my hypoglycemia under control.     there may be a diet out there tailor-made for vegetarians, but the easiest one you can do is to continue to eat what you currently eat….the key being portion control…….gonna be hard at first, but it will work….keeping in mind a few simple rules….no meals after 8pm….a piece of fresh fruit ok…..keep a food diary for a week, look at what you eat, then sit down and analyze the amount of calories you consume….you will start to lose weight buy decreasing your weekly caloric intake by 500 calories….try to make your calories count more….eating foods higher in protein and more fiber and complex carbs….e.g. brown rice instead of white rice….a lot of restaurants are nowadays conscious of the need to reduce carb intake and offer veggies instead of starches…seek them out. good luck…and, it really does work….remember, you did not put 40lbs on in a week, you're not going to take it off in one either
